This film treats the footage as a collage that documents, explores as well as hides with a resulting obscure narrative. ‘77’ was shot in a derelict house at 77 Mgarr Road Qala Gozo, Malta. This house/workshop belonged to my grandfather, and in which my father carried on working while accumulating and storing his ‘stuff’. Every speck of dust shrouds single accidental objects into an accumulative oneness that itself anchors and blurs the present with the past. These objects and the site inform the timbre that eventually shapes this work.
