cyclical

Initially veiled (by white pigment), this work unfolds over time with the aid of water. Four swatches of colour taken from an image of a forest in Innerleithen, Scotland, become revealed as water slowly percolates, indenting and reveiling underlying layers of paint. Each swatch taken from an important component contained in the forest: the air, the earth, the trunk and the leaf.

- Everything has - or, better, is- the story of its differentiation. Thus the story of a stone, a tree or a mountain, like the story of a human being, is also the story of those things or beings that, over time, become other to it - the moss, the bird, the mountaineer.  -
