residuum

Residuum - a small amount of something that remains after the main part has gone or been taken or used.

Onsite found stain marks were used for this temporary intervention. These permanent stains were painted out using impermanent pigment. In this process, making the ground looking clean is achieved by adding more stains. The intervention concluded by washing the floor. This very act of cleansing made the ground look dirty again.

residuum drawing series

A series of drawings related to the found stains at CASO. This series makes direct reference to the quantification of paint in square dimensions as sold in tubs. The poetic process of time consumed on the intricate drawing from instant painterly accidentals will be maked by the removal of the eqivalent surface squared area of the accidental paint residue.
